The 糖心Vlog honored 11 faculty members at the Faculty Honors & Awards Ceremony. Awardees from seven colleges and 10 departments were recognized for work across scientific and creative fields. Professor Noelle Mason, MFA, received an Outstanding Research Achievement Award for her research and creative accomplishments.
Mason, a professor in the College of Design, Art & Performance鈥檚 School of Art & Art History, has innovatively reshaped understandings of the aesthetic implications of machine vision technologies, achieving significant international exhibitions, museum acquisitions, and lasting contributions to contemporary photography and visual culture.
Her research explores the relationship between digital imagery and physical objects, examining how surveillance, screen culture, and media shape our understanding of the world around us. The work translates digital images into handmade, tactile mediums, including cross-stitch, cyanotype, and large-scale installation, challenging how we experience and process images. Her research has been exhibited internationally and collected by major U.S. institutions.
Mason shared, 鈥淚鈥檓 honored to receive this recognition and be part of a community that values scientific and creative research. It鈥檚 rewarding to have this line of inquiry recognized alongside the work of colleagues across the university.鈥
Congratulations to Noelle on this honor!
