Samuel Steven Conn is an assistant professor in the School of Information Systems at the 糖心Vlog Muma College of Business. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades in military, business, higher education, and technology leadership, Conn brings a wealth of experience and a unique interdisciplinary perspective to his academic work.

Prior to joining 糖心Vlog, he served as president and chief executive officer of NJEdge, Inc., where he led large-scale digital transformation initiatives for higher education, government, and healthcare sectors. His strategic leadership focused on advancing broadband infrastructure, AI and cybersecurity programs, and innovation ecosystems that fostered public-private partnerships and research collaborations.

Conn has held senior executive roles, including executive vice president and CIO at SUNY Empire State University, vice president for information technology and CIO at Southern Polytechnic State University, and senior administrative and faculty roles at Georgia Military College, Kentucky State University, Virginia Tech, and Regis University.

As a scholar-practitioner, Conn鈥檚 research interests focus on hybrid transactional and analytical processing systems, systems design and development, digital learning environments, database architecture and systems, and knowledge management.

He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and conference proceedings, as well as two books and multiple invited chapters on topics related to online learning, agile development, cloud computing, and semantic web technologies. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the ISECON Distinguished and Meritorious Paper Awards, and he has been named a Technology Thought Leader by ROI-NJ. He remains affiliated with professional organizations such as the Association of Information Systems, Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and Upsilon Pi Epsilon.

He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in systems analysis and design, project management, enterprise systems, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. His teaching philosophy emphasizes career readiness, digital fluency, and ethical leadership in a technology-driven world. He holds advanced degrees including a PhD in information systems from Nova Southeastern University and a master's degree in computer information systems from Regis University.
