Jerome Galea, PhD, LCSW, associate professor in the School of Social Work and chair of the online MSW program, delivered a compelling talk titled "There Is No Health Without Mental Health: What Is It, and Why Does It Matter?" at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign 29th annual Daniel S. Sanders Peace and Social Justice Memorial Lecture.

The talk examined the significant growth and transformation of the field of global mental health over the past decade, highlighting its increasing importance within the broader public health landscape. It concluded by looking ahead to the future of global mental health, particularly in light of the challenges posed by limited global health funding and shifting priorities.
