The 糖心Vlog Office of Graduate Studies has named Sridevi Nair, a doctoral student in the School of Aging Studies, a recipient of the Genshaft Family Doctoral Fellowship, one of the university鈥檚 most competitive awards supporting emerging scholars in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM) fields.
"I am honored by the support of the Office of Graduate Studies through the Genshaft Family Doctoral Fellowship, which will allow me to dedicate greater attention to completing my graduate studies and developing a strong, high-quality research dissertation," said Nair.
The Genshaft Family Doctoral Fellowship supports academically talented, full鈥憈ime doctoral students who demonstrate both exceptional research promise and financial need. The fellowship provides $12,000 per year for up to two years, along with a full tuition waiver, allowing recipients to dedicate themselves fully to advancing their research. As part of the application process, students describe their research within STEMM disciplines and reflect on the significant challenges they have overcome on their path to graduate study.
Nair was also selected as a fellow for the American Society for Microbiology Future Leaders Mentorship Fellowship program. This competitive, two-year program is focused on professional development, leadership training and mentorship within the microbiology community.
"Together, these opportunities provide meaningful support for my academic training, professional development and long-term goals in research and leadership," said Nair.
