Two students were selected to receive Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) awards from the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences (CBCS). These awards recognize students who demonstrate excellence, dedication and meaningful contributions to their departments and the college.

Emilie Erb, a student assistant in the Dean鈥檚 Office, received the Undergraduate Student Employee of the Year award. Erb was recognized by Lori Perez, academic service administrator for undergraduate programs, for her leadership, reliability and significant contributions to daily operations, student onboarding, orientation support and community-building initiatives within the college.
"A strong example of her professionalism is reflected in the way she maintains a clear understanding of her responsibilities and completes all tasks with accuracy, organization and confidence," Perez wrote in the nomination.
Anna Soares, a doctoral student and graduate assistant in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, received the Graduate Student Employee of the Year award. Soares was nominated by M. Adelaida Restrepo, PhD, CCC-SLP, department chair, for her exceptional research contributions, interdisciplinary expertise, mentorship of undergraduate students, and leadership within the department and professional student organizations.
"As department chair, professor and laboratory director, I need a graduate assistant whose judgment and reliability I can trust to maintain continuity across our projects," Restrepo said. "Anna has proven to be exactly that kind of student and employee."
