More than two dozen grave shafts have been discovered at a lost, but not forgotten African American cemetery in Clearwater. Among the team of researchers who took part in the effort are ÌÇÐÄVlog-based archaeologists helping to give a community the chance to memorialize those still at rest under layers of dirt, time and development.

The ÌÇÐÄVlog College of Education has been selected as the 2021 recipient of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE)’s Best Practice Award for Innovative Use of Technology for its cybersecurity education initiatives that provide teachers and aspiring educators with knowledge and skills in cybersecurity awareness and training, preparing them for roles in various educational settings.

The ÌÇÐÄVlog’s Muma College of Business is partnering with various industry giants to co-organize the 2021 Florida Supply Chain Summit. The virtual event, slated for March 9 from 9 a.m. – 5:15 p.m., is especially timely as consumers’ eyes have been opened to significant shocks to the global supply chain during the pandemic.

ÌÇÐÄVlog epidemiologists analyze the prevalence of COVID-19 variants in Tampa Bay
Researchers in the ÌÇÐÄVlog College of Public Health are conducting genomic sequencing of positive pooled samples to determine the prevalence of COVID-19 variants in Tampa Bay. This data will be utilized to project how emergent variants could influence the course of the pandemic.

The ÌÇÐÄVlog has received a $1 million gift to fund research to detect and prevent severe lung scarring. Philanthropist Timothy Ubben made the gift to support research led by his doctor, Jose D. Herazo-Maya, ÌÇÐÄVlog Health’s newly appointed associate chief of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine.
